Bonnie Ross, head of The Master Chief Collection developer 343 Industries, has vowed to make up for the trouble faced by fans once the game has reached a stable state. The Humble Double Fine Bundle has crammed in eight more games today, a collection of Double Fine Amnesia Fortnight prototypes – the results of annual internal gamejams at Double Fine. WayForward’s Kickstarter project for platformer Shantae: Half-Genie Hero ended today, raising a total of $776,084. It wasn’t the most comfortable position, but the number of times I got stopped to take pictures or to “kill” someone made it worth the sweat and bad vision. Kill any Fire Keese who bother you.
Though I guess it might kinda balanced out since I got asked to kill so many people as Hogger. Proper proportions is one that stands out since not every character is drawn with realistic body proportions, so getting the designs to look right can take some trial and error. Though most people don’t realize it, you can actually avoid the Hylian Shield and finish most of Adult Link’s quest without ever getting it. Hehe, yeah. Lots of people liked the Tree of Life, though probably more when I danced the Twist in it. After the major overheating I had in the Tree of Life the previous year, I learned my lesson and made sure to get those fans as part of the costume.
Happy Night, a prototype from 2007 and the precursor to Sesame Street: Once Upon a Monster, is also here, as is 2009 prototype Costume Quest, which eventually became, well, Costume Quest. All three definitely had a large reaction in their respective years at BlizzCon, especially on stage during the costume contest whether it was a sapped priest, a dancing tree, or the invincible gnoll. The project’s final amount was enough to push it past the developer’s $700,000 “Costume Swap” stretch goal, which will offer players three more fully-animated outfits for use in the game.
